This year’s show, on August 29 at 8pm CDT, will be the first online version, with both live and recorded performances. Artists so far will include Stanley Jordan, Andrew York, Vicki Genfan, Christie Lenee, Stephen Bennett, Muriel Anderson, and surprise special guests.
For 25 years, Muriel Anderson’s All Star Guitar Night has been thrilling audiences and promoting friendships, bringing musicians from all styles of music together. ASGN alumni include Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Duane Eddy, Tommy Emmanuel, and many others, as you can see on our Alumni Page.
As always, Muriel Anderson’s ASGN benefits The Music for Life Alliance a nonprofit 501C3 organization, that facilitates the efforts of individuals and organizations making music learning accessible to young people who may not otherwise be able to experience the educational, psychological, and social benefits of making music.
The ASGN and Music for Life Alliance will be presenting a grant to Guitars in the Classroom, a 501(c)3 public charity bringing hands-on music to education in 37 states! Their amazing supporting artists are a part of the evening’s lineup! GITC is providing free music training online for teachers and specialists so they can learn to play, sing, compose and lead students in strumming and singing songs for learning in their online and hybrid public school classrooms this fall. GITC is also supplying free instruments to teachers, and whenever possible, to students in need to play at home.
Even in this time of reduced income, artists graciously give live or recorded performances, and we encourage the audience to support their work via website donations or merchandise.
